Travel by Bike

Rather than walk, you may prefer cycling which is a great way to get around the local area, and there is no limit to how far your bike can take you.

Cycling is a zero-carbon form of transport; help build muscle and is linked to improved heart and lung capacity. It can also save you time as you filter through the traffic and avoid the queues during the community peak hours.

There is a wide range of destinations within an approximate 30-minute cycle of your new home:

  • Killingworth Village
  • Jesmond Dene
  • Newcastle Upon Tyne city centre
  • Cramlington
  • Northumberlandia
  • Palmersville and Four Lanes Metro Station

Fancy cycling further within approximately 45 minutes you can reach:

  • Whitely Bay Beach
  • St Mary’s Lighthouse
  • Blyth

If you are looking to purchase a new bike, fix your neglected bike or purchase cycle accessories, why not have a look at our ‘Offers’ page which contains discount vouchers for all residents in Moorfields.  Alternatively, you may wish to purchase a bike via your employer’s ‘Cycle to work’ scheme.
