Travel by Bike

Rather than walk, you may prefer cycling which is a great way to get around the local area, and there is no limit to how far your bike can take you.

Cycling is a zero-carbon form of transport, helps build muscle and is linked to improved heart and lung capacity. It can also save you time as you filter through the traffic and avoid the queues during the commuting peak hours.

There is a wide range of destinations within a 30-minute cycle of your new home:

  • Darlington Station –  Darlington Station has 152 cycle spaces (for more information on accessing the site click here)
  • Darlington Centre – (for more information on cycle routes and where to park within the town centre click here)
  • Teesside International Airport
  • Eaglescliffe

Are you an experienced cyclist and fancy cycling further? Why not cycle along the National Cycle Route 14, the whole route takes around 7 hours and 20 minutes, however if you only fancy cycling part way, Hartlepool coast is approximately 2-hour cycle ride. Click here for me information.

If you are looking to purchase a new bike, fix your neglected bike or purchase cycle accessories, why not have a look at our ‘Offers’ page which contains discount vouchers for all residents in Middleton Waters.  Alternatively, you may wish to purchase a bike via your employer’s ‘Cycle to work’ scheme.
