Beginner-Friendly Guided Bike Rides – Darlington

Fancy getting out on your bike but not sure where to start? Join the Darlington Walking & Cycling Hub team for a relaxed, beginner-friendly group ride around the local area.
These guided rides follow routes that are as traffic-free as possible, using quiet roads and off-road paths where we can. It’s a great way to build confidence, meet others, and enjoy cycling at an easy pace.
Ride Details
- Distance: Around 8 miles (13 km)
- Duration: About 1 hour
- Pace: Easy and relaxed
- Route: Mostly off-road or low-traffic roads
- We’ll safely cross busier roads using crossings
We’ll ride as a group and no one will be left behind.
Important Information
If the weather is forecast to be very wet or windy, the ride may be cancelled for safety reasons. If this happens, you’ll be notified via Eventbrite and email.
What to Bring
- Water and a small snack
- Suitable clothing for the weather
- Gloves (optional but recommended)
- Sunglasses and sunscreen (if needed)
Bike & Helmet Hire
We have bikes available to borrow free of charge—just let us know in the booking form if you’d like one.
Helmets are recommended. If you don’t have one, we can provide one—please request this in advance.
