Travel by Bike

Rather than walking, you may prefer cycling which is a great way to get around the local area, and there is no limit to how far your bike can take you

Cycling is a zero-carbon form of transport; helps builds muscle and is linked to improved heart and lung capacity. It can also save you time as you filter through the traffic and avoid the queues during peak traffic hours.

There is a wide range of destinations within an approximate 30-minute cycle of your new home:

Near your home is the National Cycle Route 14, which runs between Durham and South Shields. Within a short cycle distance, you can join the River Derwent section of the National Cycle Route 14 that trails along landmarks such as Derwent Walk Butterfly Bridge and Nine Arches Viaduct and the River Tyne to the North.
