On Friday 3 April 2026, we’re encouraging residents to take part in Walk to Work Day—a simple way to boost your health, save money, and help the environment.
Whether you walk your entire commute or just part of the way, every step makes a difference. Walking regularly can improve your mood, increase energy levels, and support long-term wellbeing. It’s also a great opportunity to enjoy your local area and reduce traffic and air pollution in your community.
How you can take part:
- Walk all or part of your journey to work
- Swap a short car trip for walking
- Get off public transport a stop early and walk the rest
- Invite friends, family, or neighbours to join you
