The 11th \u2013 17th of February is the National Parent Teachers Association\u2019s \u2018Take Your Family to School Week\u2019<\/p>\n

The scheme was set up by the National PTA to provide opportunity to get parents\/carers involved in their child\u2019s education and build relationships between teachers and parents.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why not take the opportunity to take part in \u2018Take Your Family to School Week\u2019 by walking or cycling with your child to school?<\/p>\n

There are many benefits for both carers and children in taking part in active travel before the school day including:<\/p>\n

  1. Increasing Physical Activity\u00a0\u2013 Walking to school can contribute to both your and your child\u2019s daily recommended amount of exercise.<\/li>\n
  2. Quality Time\u00a0\u2013 Why not take the opportunity to talk to your child about their school day or anything they are worried about?<\/li>\n
  3. Reduced Stress and Anxiety\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Walking to school can help reduce stress and anxiety and boost both your and your child\u2019s mood before the school \/work day.<\/li>\n
  4. Improved Concentration\u00a0\u2013 Exercise can help channel a child\u2019s energy and increase concentration throughout the school day.<\/li>\n
  5. Better for the Environment\u00a0\u2013 Idling cars outside of schools can create air pollution which can negatively impact both children\u2019s and adults\u2019 health. Why not walk\/cycle and reduce the number of cars on the road?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
