World Environment Day- 5th June

May 30th 2025

A Clean Environment Starts With Us – And It Starts Now.

Plastic pollution has reached every corner of our planet — from remote oceans to city streets, even turning up in the food we eat and the air we breathe. This World Environment Day (5 June 2025), we’re calling on everyone to take part in the movement to #BeatPlasticPollution and protect the places we call home.

Plastic Pollution Is Everyone’s Problem

Microplastics have now been found in our water, soil, wildlife — and even in our bodies. From single-use packaging to discarded bottles and bags, plastic waste is choking ecosystems, threatening health and accelerating the climate crisis. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

This year’s campaign takes inspiration from nature and real-world solutions to drive change — from individuals to industries, from local communities to global policymakers.

Active Travel: A Simple Step Toward a Cleaner Planet

One powerful way we can all contribute is by choosing active travel — walking, cycling, and wheeling more often, and reducing our reliance on single-use plastics along the way.

Cycling to work instead of driving means fewer carbon emissions and less tyre pollution in our waterways.

Walking with a reusable water bottle and cloth bag helps avoid plastic waste from bottles and packaging.

Shopping locally by bike or foot reduces the need for plastic-heavy deliveries and packaging.

These small actions have a big impact when we do them together.

Take Action This World Environment Day

World Environment Day 2025 comes just two months before countries meet again to negotiate a global treaty to end plastic pollution. Now is the time to act — as individuals, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Here’s how you can get involved:

Leave the car at home and walk, cycle or take public transport

Cut out single-use plastics — bring your own bottle, cup or bag

Host a community litter pick or plastic-free picnic

Talk to others — share your actions online using #WorldEnvironmentDay

Call for better infrastructure that supports active, sustainable travel

Let’s #BeatPlasticPollution — Together

The health of our environment is directly linked to our own. By shifting our habits and embracing sustainable, active lifestyles, we help create a cleaner, safer, and more liveable world — for ourselves and for future generations.

Every step, every ride, every reusable item counts.

Happy World Environment Day 2025 — let’s move towards a cleaner tomorrow.
